DoesItMatterAnymore?

You know,
i write this, listening to an album called The Fake Sound Of Progress. which sounds fitting for what i want to say.
ive just been out for 4 hours, 2 hours there, 2 hours travelling.

This album i had playing along with Fightstar.
i want to see fightstar, does anybody want to come with me?

but as i trundled around Ikea, i didnt know whether to be happy or sad. i mean i love the idea of typical swedish attire. and i love all the quirky ideas in the shop. but its sad how people spend their entire day there as a day out... i can imagine the conversation

person 1: "hey do you want to go out today?"
person 2:" yeah sure where though?"
person 1:" lets have a day trip to ikea, we can spend the whole day there superfunhappytimez ^^"

sigh.

im losing faith in humanity.
although i frickin love ikea, i couldnt spend a whole day there... its A SINGLE shop, yeah sure spend a whole day shopping but not in ONE shop. let alone homeware... ¬_¬

the worst thing is, i clicked on the bbc website like i normally do when im on the internet just to catch up on news. and i saw something about a cull on wolves in sweden, which seems mersiless and cruel, but of course no one cares about this, they just care about their material goods...

it raises the question in my mind, who controlled the number of animals of each species in the world when we didnt?

im as bad as the next person i admit... i spend too much all the time on things that have no relevance to the greater scheme of things.
come on ive just spent £125 at ikea for god's sake.
but dont you think its depressing when things more important like life and death is going on in the world?

im going to listen to The Cure in a minute, that'll reinstate the nihilist inside of me.

but first... there's a song i want to share, it always makes me think of the wider picture, it makes me think that im not the only person in the world and it doesnt revolve around my wants and needs, but there are 6.8 billion other people out there, some of them struggling, some of them happy, just different people in different walks of lifes and also billions of other organisms, like animals wrecklessly being killed and their habitat being destroyed. whose problems dont matter to us, they come second after us... it makes me realise how selfish each one of us are.

ironically this song is written by one of the most egocentric people i know of. tom delonge. but i still admire his song writing capabilities

A Little's Enough - Angels and Airwaves

When all is said and done
Will we still feel pain inside?
Will the scars go away with night?
Try to smile for the morning light
It's like the best dream to have
Where every thing is not so bad
Every tear is so alone
Like God himself is coming home to say

I, I can do anything
If you want me here
And I can fix any thing
If you let me near
Where are those secrets now
That you're too scared to tell
I'd whisper them all aloud
So you can hear yourself

Green trees were the first sign
The deepest blue, the clearest sky
The silence came with the brightest eyes
And turned water into wine
The children ran to see
The parents stood in disbelief
And those who knew braced for the ride
The earth itself then came alive to say

I, I can do anything
If you want me here
And I can fix anything
If you let me near
Where are those secrets now
That you're too scared to tell
I whisper them all aloud
So you can hear yourself

I'm sorry I have to say it but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone; I've noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough
