FuckYouSecretsDontMakeFriends

this blog is just me thinking out loud, with little relevance to anything im sorry.

im becomming increasingly disillusioned with music, i go through phases of this every so often, mostly with genres but also with specific bands, like when i was obsessed with Linkin Park several years back, and Metallica earlier this year,

but ive always held "emo" bands closest to my heart, i prefer to call them post-hardcore with the likes Funeral for a Friend, From First To Last, The Used... etc all of these bands. theyve been there like a friend in need through most of my teenage life, even when i went off and explored different music like Nirvana (L), Zeppelin, the Stooges, and more guitar solo based music as i learnt guitar more i still always went back to post-hardcore. always listened to them when i walked anywhere, always fell asleep listening to them, and never once did i grow tired of them.

But now, as i finish listening to Silverstein, i have a feeling, like an unquenchable thirst for something new, im scrolling through a playlist i made of these bands and i find nothing that i actually like, which is incredibly depressing, it seems empty and lifeless, manufactured and generic. im blaming this on the Blackout, i love the song save our selves, so much that i then found it irritating, it has little lyrical meaning, and i was utterly appalled when Kerrang! gave their album KKKKK. i mean yeah its alright, and yes i love welsh bands, but this album was balls,

i then scroll down to From First To Last, as much as people hate them, and yes their lead singer did leave them, but i love them, i confess, id buy their t-shirt if i had the money...
anyway my hope lies with the song Secrets Dont Make Friends, if i listen to this and get bored in the same way i have done with much of this playlist, ill be getting worried.

*presses play*

maybe my music taste is just maturing?
i hope not.
these bands are like my security blanket.
helping when im down or alone, its amazing how music has that influence isnt it?

"Your words are deadly weapons, killing me, destroying me"

im starting to smile again,
i love this song.
maybe im just being stupid and will love these bands in morning again.

i can sleep tonight now thats off my mind.
